Welcome to Bacchus Marsh College.
Bacchus Marsh College has a proud history. Over many years we have supported the young people of Bacchus Marsh through our curriculum programs and associated sporting and cultural activities.
A positive partnership between the students, parents and teachers is based on an effective education. Our College values are Mutual Respect, Excellence, Ownership and providing a Safe and Positive Environment. This forms a solid foundation for building student success and ensuring that positive community values are reinforced.
Bacchus Marsh College is housed on two campuses. In 1992 the Darley campus was opened for students from years 7 - 9. The old High School site is the Maddingley campus where years 10 -12 study. At Maddingley campus, we also have the Leisure Centre which is operated through a joint use agreement with the Moorabool Shire. In 2005 Ecolinc - the Bacchus Marsh Science and Technology Innovations Centre was also opened. This facility offers classes for students from around the state and of course our students have ready access to this world class facility.
We provide a challenging curriculum where all students are encouraged to extend their abilities. There is a sequential course of study across years 7 - 12 built on a core curriculum with some elective programs beginning at year 9. Students are exposed to a full range of studies and are able to develop their skills and knowledge. Safety net programs also operate through the Bridges reading support program for students experiencing difficulty with literacy. A broad range of VCE subjects, including a comprehensive range of VET subjects, is complemented by the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), an alternative program.
Bacchus Marsh College also provides an effective student support structure. Students are organised in Home Groups and each year level has regular assemblies. We operate peer support programs, the Pathways program, career guidance and have an Student Welfare Coordinator based at each campus. Our sporting and cultural programs also back up the commitment the College has to the individual as well as the group.
During 2005 we reintroduced the school production through the very enjoyable staging of "How the West Was Warped." Students from both campuses and also from the local primary schools worked together to stage this show in September. Our music program for those students wanting tuition in various instruments was strongly supported by the VET Music group who staged their own successful concert.
A great time was had by all who attended the swimming and the athletics carnivals and individual students have progressed to regional and state championships.
Our website is currently undergoing renovation at should be up and running in the new year. Come back and visit us again.
